West Sound Technical Skills Center prepares students for higher education and career opportunities in our off-campus training site. To enroll, read the information below.
Open Enrollment
All programs at West Sound Tech are open entry. This means you may start at any time during the school year depending on the space available in the program you choose!
The Skills Center encourages 11th & 12th grade students to enter programs that both challenge and meet their abilities and interests, regardless of gender or special needs.
Entrance Requirements
Students must meet the entrance requirements specific to each program, as well as demonstrate commitment and interest in the career and technical program.
Who Is Eligible?
- Juniors and Seniors
- Anyone Age 16 - 20 who has not received a diploma
- Anyone Age 16 - 20 who has earned his/her GED
- Students who know what type of technical training they want
How to Apply and Register

Visit West Sound Tech, view the facilities and participate in activities.

Discuss West Sound Tech's programs with your counselor. Talk to students who currently attend West Sound Tech. In the Spring, attend one of West Sound Tech's presentations at your school.
- Meet with your counselor, review your schedule and obtain approval to apply.
- Complete an official WST application - either fill out the online application below or fill out a printable application, return it to WST and arrange a meeting with the program instructor.

- Obtain confirmation of enrollment from your school counselor or the Skills Center.
Important School Info
WST MAIN OFFICE: To reach the West Sound Technical Skills Center main office, call (360)473-0550 between the hours of 7 AM and 3:30 PM. For more contact info, visit the Contact page.
Class Meeting Times: Classes meet in three period blocks in the morning and afternoon so students can be enrolled in other classes at their sending schools. Morning Classes are from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM and afternoon classes meet from 11:10 AM to 1:40 PM.
Programs Available: There are 16 programs to select from, they are: Automotive Technology, Academy of Finance, Collision Repair Technology, Academy of Hospitality & Tourism, Precision Machining & Manufacturing, Construction Trades, Cosmetology, Early Childhood Education, Culinary Arts/Food Service, Restaurant Management, Natural Resources Technology, Public Safety Occupations, Professional Medical Careers, Engineering & Design Technology, Sheet Metal Technology and Welding Technology.

Advanced Placement Credits
Credits earned through West Sound Tech's programs may count as occupational education credits, or equivalency credits in art, english, math science, social science, health, and P.E. Credits are recommended to sending high schools and are dependent upon the length of the students enrollment. Since each school district has different requirements, see your counselor for details.

The Online Security System limits your registration time to 3 minutes per page. When you come to a down arrow, click on it, and a drop down menu will appear for your choices. Click on the one you want. After completing the form, print TWO COPIES. You will need your Tech Prep ID Number for additional registrations. Follow the instructions on the printed page to send in your check and a copy of the registration.
Search for classes without being registered by going to the website and clicking on Search for Articulations. Add classes by going to the website and clicking on Continuing Student.
After you earn a 3.0 or better you’ll receive:
- An Olympic College transcript.
- A letter of Congratulations for your Portfolio from the Vice-President of Instruction at Olympic College.
